How do tree roots get in sewage pipes?

Tree roots grow naturally towards any source of water. When there is a leak in your sewage pipe, it is an attractive source of water for roots. The roots enter the sewage pipe through the crack then continue to grow, eventually causing a blockage in the pipes.

Tree roots can cause minor blockages in the sewage pipe leading to improper water flow and backups to severe damage such as a collapsed drain line.

How does Drain Titan, LLC fix a blockage caused by tree roots?

There are a few different solutions to clear tree roots from your sewage pipes.   

  • High pressure jetting of the pipes. High pressure jetting uses water at high pressure to blast through the roots, breaking them up. 

  • Cutting the tree roots up using a special tool with a carbide cutting head. 

  • Or depending on the severity of the damage, age and condition of the pipe, and the type of pipe – an entire replacement of the pipe or fitting.
